The 9th Annual Carrie On 5K and Brooklynn's Brigade Kiddie Run will be held on Saturday August 11, 2018
Carrie Lorman was an amazing mother, a beloved daughter, a treasured sister, niece, cousin, granddaughter, friend, co-worker, DPS Sister and the list goes on. Carrie kept herself surrounded by family and friends and that means we all have wonderful memories to keep close to our hearts. She touched so many in her short, yet very memorable, time with us.
Carrie died tragically on December 9, 2009 following a snowy car accident. We miss her terribly but we know she is Heaven's angel now.
Carrie left behind a beautiful daughter, Brooklynn. She brought such joy and meaning to Carrie's life. After having Brooklynn, Carrie would say, I've found a reason for me to change who I used to be, a reason to start over new, and the reason is you.
The Carrie On 5K and Brooklynn's Brigade Kiddie Run was founded by Angie Volk, a friend of the Lorman family, to Carrie On her memory. All proceeds from the event will remain in the Rogers community.
This year's proceeds will be distributed as follows:
- A scholarship will be awarded to a student at the Rogers High School
- Help will be provided through the Rogers Lions to families dealing with hardship/loss and to C.R.O.S.S.
- Money will be given to the Rogers Police and Fire Departments for rescue equipment
In our ongoing efforts to support the community in which Carrie lived, the Family and Friends of the Carrie On 5K Race have adopted a highway. You can find our sign on County Road 116 between CSAH 150 and the County Line.
